Priority of Prayer

Prayer is the legitimate order instituted by God for humans to communicate with Him. It covers virtually every subject of communication in the Kingdom of God. The prayer of supplication, the prayer of worship, the prayer of meditation and thanksgiving which for that matter is the spine of fellowship with our creator. God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in their triune estate are engagable, touchable and accessible by the subject.

In Luke 18:1, Jesus the Son of God said, “Men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” Establishing prayer as a consistent factor between heavens relationship and the earth is revealed in this verse. By making this statement, Jesus showed passionately the importance of the alliance between the saints of God in the earth and the throne of God in heaven. The strong phrase “ought to” simply means prayer is a necessity and not a luxury. It also means this is heavens number one expectation of the community of humans in the earth towards our Heavenly Father. The connection is Jesus as the Son of God relating to other sons of God in the earth and revealing how both He and us ought to connect to our Father with great fervency and expectation. If He says we ought to, it means He does as well.

Men always ought to pray suggests, men should breath it, live it and see prayer as our everlasting life support. So long as their is need on this earth, prayer must ascend to heaven so that grace and mercy should come down to answer our questions, supply our lack and advance the reason for our living which is purpose.

Abraham Lincoln said, “More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.” It is the secret behind the heaven on earth experience promised to the faithful servants and believers in God.

In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life: No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Certainly, no one can introduce any subject to the Father for immediate response than His own Son who is the heir of all things in God. The good news is by the resurrection of Jesus from the grave, He has made us joint heirs with Himself. This means we share the same privileges and righteousness with Christ and therefore can have our requests answered immediately as well. Once we have Jesus, we become heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, the most anointed one whose integrity and name gives credibility to our prayers anytime, anywhere and any day.

Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Truth to be told, prayer from the earth is to ascend to heaven as consistently as we breath in and out of our nostrils. Prayer is an inspiration necessary for a healthy relationship with God. It is as a man breathes through His nostrils to live, so is the respiration of prayer in fellowship with God. Coming boldly to the throne to obtain mercy and grace is a literal invitation of connecting to heavens life support. This is because without grace and mercy, you are dead and you have no life and no hope. Obtaining mercy and grace is a daily necessity. As we get into His presence, we are refreshed, inspired, directed, protected and every need met to fulfill our vital purpose for living.

We live to pray and we pray to live. This is the grace we all find so long as we believe in the power of God to change any circumstance and to establish His glory in the earth through our lives. The challenges of today makes prayer imperative, a necessity and a now subject matter. As the Holy Ghost shares the love of God through our hearts towards one another, so do we stand in the excellent way of praying because we love the Lord and one another.
